Not No, But Not Now

Patience. It's long been said that it's a virtue, but it's a bugaboo for a lot of us.

It's hard to understand why things are not happening for us when we want them to. It's especially challenging to watch others get the opportunities we wanted or have our contributions and abilities passed over and unrecognized. It's not that we begrudge others having blessings.  Yet at the same time, we think, "where's mine?" .

But on the other side.. see if you can think of how many times you wanted something to happen, but were able to look back and say "boy I'm glad I didn't get what I wanted when I wanted it".  Or, perhaps the result that came to you was something that worked out better than what you originally planned. 

There's an inspiring song I found recently recorded by southern gospel group the Whisnants, called "A Greater Yes".  You can read the lyrics here.  For me, it's comforting and sustaining to trust that the reason for the delay could be because there just may be a better plan out there about to enfold.
