Pick to Click...

I am fond of technology and computers. I learned a lot about them over the years and have enjoyed the process. I learned enough about computer technology on the job to get hired in a technology area at my workplace. Since starting "Wendy V's Ponder Cast", I am learning even more about audio recording and producing sound files, and it's been a blast.

But, I'll tell you what one of the best things about technology is for me. It's a great encouragement tool. People can find out just how they or their work has made a difference in a short time.

Back in the old days, if we liked a particular singer, actor, writer and their work, we had to write a fan letter of the "snail mail" variety. Those notes, though, tended to get buried and perhaps never seen.  E-mail is great because if the people you are encouraging happen to manage their own e-mail, then you can let them know quickly and directly. It's been very cool for me to be able to tell at least one or two of my musical heroes of the 60s how much their music meant to me and have them respond to it.

As a music and artist supporter, MySpace has been a great means of finding new artists out there who are trying to reach people with their work. You can write them a quick note and add them as a "friend" . 

There are some people I've noticed on the internet who have made particularly effective use of their encouragement ministries via the web, using blogs to stay in touch with their readers who need a lift. Hopefully this newsletter has done something similar for you.
