About Wendy Vickers

As a supporter of nationally and locally renowned musicians, Wendy Vickers has earned nicknames such as "folk queen", "guardian angel of acoustic musicians" and "the Twin Cities' greatest cheerleader". "Wendy V" has a rewarding history of encouragement to musicians for 18 years in Minneapolis/St. Paul, Minnesota and beyond as a writer, promotion consultant and speaker, inspiring musicians to take their music to broader audiences.  Her audiobook CDs, “Out of the Jar…and Into the World” and "Treasures In the Tip Jar: the Art of Awesome Fan Support" and e-booklet "Promoting and Marketing Your Musical Talent" offer practical, common sense marketing support for the beginning to professional musician and encouragement for fans and artists alike. Wendy's websites at www.wendyv.com  and  Embrace Encouragement offer support and resources for artists and fans, such as CD reviews, promotional tips and hints for fans on how to get radio airplay for their favorite artists. Wendy has shared her “Promote and Market Your Musical Talent” advice for organizations such as Open U Inc./Learning Annex, McNally-Smith College in St. Paul, and Minneapolis Community and Technical College .

Now based in Nashville, TN, Wendy brings that background of encouragement to the mix in her work as a resource and most recently as personal life coach, fulfilling her true calling of encouraging people who want to share their gifts with the world and who want to discover and live out their life's purpose. Her recent articles "Growing and Keeping Loyal Fan Support", "Embracing Encouragement: Three Key Ways to Impact Lives", and "Radio Airplay For Newcomers: How We Did It"  have been featured on several music business and self-improvement websites. Her three part series on embracing encouragement can be heard on her podcast, "Wendy V's Ponder Cast".

"Embrace Encouragement" is named from a phrase she first used in a speech in Grove City, Ohio in 2002 and in her "Treasures in the Tip Jar" audiobook.  Wendy is a Certified Coach through Coach Training Alliance. Wendy earned the Toastmasters designations of Advanced Toastmaster-Bronze (ATM-B) and Competent Leader (CL).
